Halo Aware for Chrome

The browser extension turns your child's AI conversations into clarity, not surveillance.

Download for Chrome

Version 1.2.1 · 111 KB

We're in beta, so installing takes a few extra clicks for now. When we launch on the Chrome Web Store, it'll be a single click.

Three steps to get going

You'll need a few minutes and the device your child uses for AI.

  1. Install the extension

Unzip the file you just downloaded. Open chrome://extensions in Chrome, turn on Developer mode in the top right, then click Load unpacked and pick the unzipped folder.

  2. Create your account

Head to app.haloaware.com, sign up, and add your child. Generate a setup code from their device card.

  3. Connect the device

Click the Halo Aware icon in Chrome's toolbar, paste the setup code, and you're done. The extension starts summarising AI chats from there.

If something goes wrong

I don't see the icon in my toolbar.
Click the puzzle-piece icon in the top right of Chrome and pin Halo Aware. The icon will move to your toolbar.
Chrome shows a yellow banner about Developer mode.
That's expected during beta. Once we're listed on the Chrome Web Store, Chrome won't show it any more. Leave Developer mode on for now so the extension keeps running.
I'm using a different Chromium browser.
Edge, Brave, Arc, and Vivaldi all support the same flow. Open the equivalent of chrome://extensions in your browser and follow step 1.
